Get deputed to Germany by your current Indian Employer
I’d say that this is the simplest of these four methods, as far as I can tell. And that’s the way I got a job in Germany. The idea is to find a job with an MNC in India, where you’ve got the opportunity of being on site. Some multinational companies offering these opportunities are listed below in India:
- Infosys
- TCS
- Tech Mahindra
- Accenture
- Mindtree
- There are many more IT consulting firms.
List all these companies, and try to get some work at one of them. During the interview process you will inform your prospective employer of your desire to travel on site. To let them know that in 1–2 years, you really need an on site opportunity. You can apply for local jobs there once you’ve been working there for 1–2 years and you’ve been sent to Onsite Germany. This will usually be possible until you have a contract of employment with your Indian employer, which expressly states that it is not possible to change jobs in the course of deputation. It takes 1–2 months in Germany to get a local job, if you’re good at what you do and know your trade. You can also apply for a work permit in Germany or India when you have received an official offer of employment from the German company.
Get a Germany Jobseeker visa from India
This method can be used by those who are willing to take risks and wish to get a job in Germany before 1 year of age. For a period of six months, you must apply for an employment visa in India to be able to travel to Germany. The list of documents necessary to apply for a jobseekers’ visa may be found on this page. In these 6 months, you have to sign the contract of employment with a German employer or else you’re going back to India.
This is a risk, because during the period you’re living in Germany and looking for work, you will be unemployed. Furthermore, you’re going to have to pay the cost of living in Germanywhich is ten times more expensive than it costs for India, particularly accommodation rentals. Secondly, you will be able to meet face to face with the employer at his or her office for an interview.
Compared to the first method where you will work for an Indian employer who won’t have time to prepare and appear at a job interview, you can make yourself available all day in order to be interviewed. It’s still a very risky choice, but it should only be made if one has at least five to ten million of disposable earnings in his account and is quite confident about his skill set.
Apply to jobs in Germany directly from India
That way, since there’s no risk to be taken, it sounds the best. In Germany, however, this is one of the most difficult jobs to find. Because you’re in India, and because there are many factors that make it difficult for you. First, the employer can not talk to you face to face and even if you try a video call, the time difference doesn’t fit in most cases.
However, it is not difficult to get a job interview when you are of exceptional ability in terms of core skills and also possess excellent communication capabilities even though you live in India. The only platform that I use personally to apply for jobs in Germany is LinkedIn. Jobs in Germany for Indian workers can be found sensibly through a LinkedIn search. While searching for a job on LinkedIn, you will be able to easily find relevant English language jobs using the right filters.
There are a lot of other possibilities for you to make your job search simpler and quicker if you’re a premium member of LinkedIn. Please check that you have a current profile and are logged in to this platform before applying for jobs usingLinkedIn. In addition, you can get in contact with a German recruiter by usingLinkedIn premium’s InMail feature. Actually, InMail is working and you might be getting a job more quickly than you think. And don’t be scared to begin networking with your prospective employers on LinkedIn. In order for you to meet the recruiters, you’ll have to act as a conversation starter. The more relevant content you post on this platform, the more visible you’ll be to potential employers.
Get a German Student Visa
Unlike the other 3 options described above, this one is especially for those who are still at the beginning of their professional career. If you are a fresh graduate or do not have more than 2–3 years of work experience, then this is one of the best options for you.
In Germany, you can do your Master’s without having to pay any fee. Yes, education is completely free in Germany even for foreigners.Every year, the number of Indian students moving to Germany for higher education is increasing. The main reason for this increasing trend is the free education that Germany offers. You can apply to German Universities from India and If you get an admission letter from one of these Universities, then you can easily come to Germany by applying for a German student visa.As soon as you land in Germany on a student visa, you can take up a part-time job.You can earn enough to continue your studies and pay for the shared apartment or student apartment from your part-time job.
Once you have completed your education, you get over a year to search for jobs. Usually, you can get a job in the tech industry within 3–6 months if you try hard. So, this is one of the best options if you are a young, dynamic, and fresh graduate in India.
Bonus Tip – Opportunity Card
New ways of attracting international talent into the German labor market have just been put in place by the German Government.
More opportunities for Indian job seekers to move and reside in Germany will be available once the opportunity card is introduced.
